Brief outline of course details:
Week 1

Induction
Etiquette & hygiene, head prep & measuring, fitting & securing, blocking wigs, mastering hair control.

Week 2
|
Basic Setting
Blocking wigs, washing wigs, setting (without rollers), pin curls, barrel curls, finger waves.

Week 3
|
Basic Setting
Setting with rollers, elaborate styles, ladies & gents.
|
Week 4
|
Designs
Realizing designs, establishing characters, simple sets, creating textures.
|
Week 5
|
Period Wigs
18th century wigs (1750 - 1790), H/F & lace front wigs, ladies & gents, use of crepe hair and frames.

Week 6
|
Cutting
Short wigs, men's wigs, partings, (1930 - 1950).
|
Week 7
|
Part wigs & pieces
Part wigs, ¾ wigs, back falls, attaching pieces to wigs, attaching pieces to own hair.

Week 8
|
Period wigs
19th century, ladies & gents, early-mid and late Victorian (1838 - 1900).
|
Week 9
|
Setting waves
Setting waves using rollers, marcel waving, setting wigs (1800 - 1830). Prince Regent.

Week 10
|
Restoration wigs
1600's, setting with rods, frizzing, attaching ladders, powdering.

Week 11
|
Period wigs
(1915 - 1929), Edwardian, also setting student's own choice to exhibit, 1 male & 1 female wig.

Week 12
|
Résumé
Fine tuning/trouble shooting, summary, exhibiting chosen work.

Certificate presentation
|
All tools, equipment and materials are supplied on this course.
An additional beginners course of 1 month duration is available on request.
Any professional needing to concentrate on a specific area can attend a one week course that is tailor made to his/her requirements.
