One Month Beginner's "Taster" Course
The duration of the course will include the following basics:
- Explanation of the different types of wigs and their uses in the fields of theatre, television & film
- How to work with an artiste / performer
- How to prepare a head to be measured / a wig to be worn
- Make a foundation and discuss the different types
- Practise knotting both backs and fronts of wigs learning to use different directions and thicknesses
- Practise blocking up wigs to wash/clean for wig maintenance
- Practise wig dressing / styling
- Advice and guidance in the right direction towards your chosen career
This course is 100% practical and students wishing to take part will benefit the most if they have the following attributes:
- Patience
- Good concentration
- Ability to sit still for several hours
- Artistic flair
Wig knotting is the most demanding requiring good near sight and patience and because of this the knotting is interspersed with the other subjects throughout the month's duration so as to prevent any boredom or frustration.
